+So how do you account for this in your piece?
Making art is a difficult job, you need to have some kind of space for it.
Most of it takes place in the mind but there is an important physical side of the production. So the studio is a fusion of fantasy space and physical space.
Thats what I like about Courbets picture, you know right away this is a fantasy--but as is implied in his title, a real fantasy.
