May. 1 - May. 2, 2004

Oursler presents "Meteor," a video projection on painted fiberglass with smoke machine, 58 x 58 x 30 inches. Installed at the Jobs Lane entrance to The Parrish Art Museum on the occasion of the 2004 exhibition "North Fork / South Fork: East End Art Now, Part I."

In a world inundated by images-on television, in film, on the Internet. Tony Oursler understands the challenge of capturing an audience. For his talking beings, he directs video projections of faces onto various surfaces, enlarging eyes and mouth to focus attention on these expressive features.[Alicia G.
